A cultural evening dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the world-renowned artist Charles Aznavour

On 11 December 2024, a cultural evening dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the world-renowned artist Charles Aznavour was held in New Delhi, organized in collaboration with the Embassy of Armenia in India, the French Embassy, and the Alliance Française de Delhi.

In his speech, Ambassador Vahagn Afyan highlighted the inclusion of Aznavour's 100th anniversary in UNESCO's list of notable personalities and important events for 2024-2025. He mentioned that events like this are being organized worldwide through the cooperation of the diplomatic missions of Armenia and France, reflecting on the unforgettable legacy of Charles Aznavour. The Armenian Embassy in India had also organized a concert series in September this year, as well as an event in April dedicated to another prominent Armenian cultural figure, Sergei Parajanov, whose 100th anniversary was also included in the UNESCO list.

The French Ambassador to India, Thierry Mathou, also paid tribute to the 100th anniversary of the French-Armenian legend and his global legacy.

The event featured a singing competition, followed by musical performances by French and Indian artists. The performances were warmly received by the audience.
